History and the Mission of SPCCAA-NY

Under the auspices of former SPCC teacher, Ms. Amy Lau, Class of 1956, a committee was gathered to explore the formation of a local alumni chapter in the winter/spring of 1992. By the fall, St. Paul's Co-educational College Alumni Association Greater New York was formally established, though not legally incorporated. Affiliated with St. Paul's Co-educational College and St. Paul's Co-educational College Alumni Association of Hong Kong, SPCCAA-NY is nonetheless an American organization, and adheres to the latest edition of the 1876 Robert's Rules of Order - The Classic Manual of Parliamentary Procedure. Through the years, our membership ranges from graduates and non-graduates of classes in the 1920's to the 2000's, to former teachers, parents and even spouses, with voting right granted only to former St. Paul's students.

The chapter's mainstay activities comprise of three meetings a year, one in early spring around Chinese New Year, one in mid-summer and one in late fall, usually in the form of a pot luck dinner at a volunteer member's home, alternating between New Jersey and Westchester/Connecticut to accommodate our membership and visitors from New England to Mid-Atlantic States. As we celebrate our 20th anniversary and look forward, we encourage the local alumni and visitors to join us as we expand our functions and network among ourselves and with SPCCAA worldwide.
